Living the Gospel

"In Him we live and move and have our being." (Acts 17:28)

Follow God’s pattern (2)

Exodus 26

The will of God is very clearly spelt out in the Scriptures. God wants us to follow what He directs us to do. Following from the previous chapter, God now tells His people through Moses to build the tabernacle according to specific instructions. He didn’t want them to deviate.

‭‭Exodus 26:1 (NKJV‬‬) says,

“Moreover you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine woven linen and blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim you shall weave them.”

What can we learn from Exodus 26?

#1. Follow God’s direction. (Exodus 26:1)

God’s big plan in this chapter was for Moses to instruct the people to make a tabernacle for Him. The tabernacle was specifically where God will dwell. The rest of the chapter talks about the details of how to achieve this direction. When we know the big goal, the details are easy to resolve. If we know what God wants us to do with our lives, family and work, it is easy to live each day unto Him. Not knowing the big picture makes a lot of people confused and they live anyhow without meaning.

#2. Follow God’s directives. (Exodus 26:2-37)

The next thing we learn from the chapter is that God gave them details of what to do with the direction He wanted them to go. He gave them directives on what materials to use, the dimensions to use and the way to construct the tabernacle and the other articles. God does not leave things vague. He has clear plans for us to follow. Every step of the way, He knows what He wants us to do. If we truly want to walk with God and achieve His plans for our lives, we must follow His details.

God wants things to be done in the right way as He wants.

Take Action: Be detailed about what God wants you to do.
